Are you looking to find for the most colourful places in the world? One of them may very well be Keukenhof. In an area spanning 32 hectares you will find seven million tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, crocuses and lilies!
Keukenhof is the most amazing flowering park you will ever find, located near Lisse, about 30 km southeast of Amsterdam.
Tulips are my very favourite flower so there was no doubt that I would have to go there. The landscapers have organized the colours so well and have created a really amazing garden. There are plenty of coloured flowers of all shapes and sizes. You will have a wonderful experience visiting Keukenhof, especially on a sunny day.
The park is open from the end of March until May. If you aren’t going there by car, you can book a combi ticket that includes bus transportation from Amsterdam centre, Schiphol (airport), Leiden Central Station or Haarlem. You can find all the information you need on the Keukenhof website.
When I was there I bought four different types of tulip bulbs, but unfortunately only one of them blossomed. I’m not a very good planter I guess.
